The iconic beach near Varna has a new addition for tourists.
A new coastal area for recreation and walks has opened at the Shkorpilovtsi resort, reports the Regional Information Center in Varna.
The zone was created within the framework of a project financed by the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Programme 2014-2020. The total investment value is BGN 249,972.17, and the beneficiary is the Dolni Chiflik Municipality.
European funding was used to build a coastal recreation area at the resort, featuring designated areas for outdoor fitness, games, rest, and relaxation, as well as an observation deck with binoculars. Benches, gazebos, bike racks, and trash bins were also installed. Solar-powered lighting is also provided. The area has been landscaped with new vegetation.
The project started on November 7, 2022 and ran until November 7, 2023.
As we've already told you, not far from Shkorpilovtsi Beach is the longest beach in Bulgaria. It begins at the Rai and Romantika campsites in the north and extends to Cherni Nosa in the south. It's one of the most ecologically clean beaches on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast.
